About Our Literary Journal

Survivors to Superherores’ literary journal, Songs of Survival, strives to aid survivors and their loved ones in healing after experiencing sexual violence. We do this by encouraging survivors to embrace and project their own voices, explore their experiences in creative ways, and share their personal stories through our literary journal. Our team has worked hard to cultivate a safe space for survivors to speak their truths and, with this literary journal, we hope to establish a strong community where survivors and their loved ones can be heard and make meaningful connections with others.

We are currently accepting submissions and take pride in having a high acceptance rate so, if you have a story to tell, we encourage you to submit your work and join our community of strong writers and artists!

Philosophy of the Lit Journal

Our goal is to publish the voices of as many people who have been affected by sexual violence as possible. This includes survivors of all ages, their families, and friends.  In keeping with the mission of Survivors to Superheroes, we strive to publish stories, poetry, and artwork in a safe way that allows for empowerment and authenticity.

It is important to us that we not turn away those who are in need of an outlet, and therefore, we don’t turn away submissions unless they are profoundly not mission aligned. Therefore, we do publish work submitted by people within the Survivors to Superheroes team, including those who participate in the creation of Songs of Survival. Everyone deserves to have a voice, and we are honored to be the platform that can help make this a reality.

We also work hard to ensure that our readers have a comfortable reading experience, which is why we put content warnings on all work that might require them. This way readers get the opportunity to design a reading experience that is protective of each individual’s well being.
Songs of Survival is here to support survivors through all stages of recovery, survival, and life in general, so feel free to share your work and achievements with us as they happen. We love bragging about our contributors!
